GRAND CAYMAN: 1. Stingray Sandbar 2.Diving 3.Rum Point

MUST DO WHEN IN GRAND CAYMAN

"From beach, to forest reserve, to surf park...from historic building, to bird sanctuary, to submarine there is an incredible array of attractions. Some you would expect to find in an idyllic Caribbean island and some you would not. Here, there really is something for everyone: for every age, for every physical ability and for every interest."

1. Snorkeling Trip to Stingray City/ Sandbar

"Best snorkeling experience in the world."

"Stingray City is found just off the coast of Grand Cayman Island and consists of a string of sand bars that cross the North Sound from Morgan Harbor to Rum Point. Locals say that the stingrays began gathering in the area decades ago when fisherman used to clean fish on the shallow sand bars. The stingrays would forget their normally shy dispositions and feast on the guts of the cleaned fish. "

Many People fear Stingray. Let me just tell you that you do not need to worry about these rays. Yes, they still have there stingers but these stingrays are very docile. They will glide over and around you looking for food. Their mouth is like a suction cup, and no, they do not have teeth that can bite you. The tour guide that brought me to the sandbar stated that he has never seen anyone stung, or heard of anyone being stung in the last 15 years he has worked there (not bad).. Just be gentle and you will be fine.
